Primary Geography: Year 2

Primary Geography enables teachers to bring the wider world into the classroom by studying local, national and global issues through a range of engaging learning activities. This book is divided into thematic sections based on the National Curriculum Programmes of Study for Geography. 

Through an exploration of the different topics in each book, pupils acquire the skills to carry out geographical enquiry through investigation, analysis and practical work.

Pupils explore the rich diversity of human and natural environments and develop and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the geographical processes that shape the world around them.

Year 2 pupils will explore:

• Maps and Navigation
• Weather
• Environments and their Features
• People and Places

At the end of each section an assessment page is provided. The assessments for Year 1 and Year 2 comprise of a cloze text for completion using words from a word bank, followed by a second task that requires application of knowledge and understanding of the section.
